ComEd Raises Rates 38% To Pay For Smart Meters

CHICAGO (AP) – Commonwealth Edison’s residential customers will see a 38 percent spike in their electricity bills beginning next month, just six months after the company raised rates to help pay for the costs of upgrading the power grid, the company said Wednesday.According to Time Magazine, one of the first actions taken by President Obama after the '08 election was to request $100 Billion for a 'smart' grid.
